ومدّع بحياة البحر معرفة

ما حازها احد في الاعصر الاول

And one who claimed a knowledge of life in the sea—

Knowledge no one in ages past had ever attained—

فقلت صف لي كيف الحوت ممتحناً

فقال لي الحوت ذو قرنين كالجمل

I said, putting him to the test: “Describe to me what the whale is like.”

He told me: “The whale has two horns, like a camel.”
