ولا تحسب الإنسان إلا سلالة

لقردين عافا الغاب لما تضجرا

Do not think of man as just a chain

Of apes, for the wilderness they disdained

ولم يتحسن طوره لتنازع

ولكن حياة القرد رامت تطورا

And evolution improved their strain

Yet the apes continued, unchained
