قلدت اهل الغرب في الشعر ناس

واذا الشعر انفه مجدوع

Some people imitate Westerners in poetry

Yet poetry, if it has no spirit, is worthless

ما دروا ان الشعر في كل ارض

هو من نفس اهلها منزوع

They don't realize that poetry in every land

Stems from the spirit of its own people
