1. أيتها النفس اقترب

    فراق أبطال الأدب

    O soul, come near,

    The departure of the heroes of literature

  2. الذائدين باليرا

    ع عن كرامة العرب

    Who defended dignity with blades

    Shared our afflictions and tribulations

  3. حي الذين شاركو

    نافي المصاب والنصب

    And in the immense misfortunes

    Weaknesses plagued the caravan

  4. وفي الرزايا الفادحا

    ت الموهنات للركب

    Sorrows in our hearts lit

    A fire burning in people's hearts without fuel

  5. الموريات في قلو

    بنا اسى فيه لهب

    The delegation, the delegation is better than

    One who eulogized or lamented

  6. نارا تشب في قلو

    ب الناس من غير حطب

    Hail to the gallant men

    Who raised the status of literature

  7. الوفد ان الوفد خير من

    رثى ومن ندب

    Hail to those who came

    With verses recited in wonder

  8. حي الخناذيذ الألى

    قد رفعوا شأن الادب

    How excellent is he who composed a poem

    Or delivered a sermon about them

  9. حي الألى جاؤا من

    الآيات تتلى بالعجب

    And excellent is the poetry extolling

    The glory of the conqueror Ghazi

  10. يا حبذا من قرض القريض

    منهم او خطب

    And excellent is he who spoke it

    And narrated it and wrote it

  11. وحبذا شعر شدا

    بمجد غازي فخلب

    They protected Ghazi as

    The eyelid protects the eyeball

  12. وحبذا من قاله

    ومن روى ومن كتب

    Ghazi who mended

    The crack and stitched the tear

  13. حفوا بغازي مثلما

    يحف بالعين الهدب

    Ghazi who inherited

    Nobleness from a mother and father

  14. غازي الذي قد لأم

    الصدع وللفتق رأب

    Today Ghazi alone

    Is the master of the Arabs

  15. غازي الذي قد ورث

    العلياء من ام واب

    As for King Faisal

    He is a setting star

  16. اليوم غازي وحده

    في الارض سيد العرب

    How abundant are the tears that

    Poured from the eye for him

  17. اما المليك فيصل

    فانه نجم غرب

    Time has hurt us

    With its sword when it struck

  18. ما اكثر الدمع الذي

    له من العين انسكب

    And the ardour of sorrow

    Remains in the heart, father of flame

  19. الدهر قد اوجعنا

    بسيفه لما ضرب

    The boy overcame sorrow

    In his calamity, so it did not overcome him

  20. والهب القلب اسى

    ثبت يدا ابي لهب

    What a tremendous incident

    That shook the Orient

  21. قد غالب الصبى الاسى

    في رزئه فما غلب

    Poetry, if it comes from feeling

    Need not fear criticism

  22. فيا له من حادث

    من وقعه الشرق اضطرب

    As if it were in scintillating

    Battles, a double-edged sword

  23. الشعر ان جاء من الشعور

    لا يخشى التبب

    Gleaming like a diamond on

    A precious chain of gold

  24. كأنه في معمعا

    ن الحرب سيف ذو شطب

    As if it were a necklace

    Of pearls over an isthmus

  25. يسطع كالماس على

    عقد ثمين من ذهب

    I seek refuge from the evil of every

    Critic when he lies

  26. كأنه قلادة

    من لؤلؤ على لبب

    And the ferocity of one who spits

    When he is jealous

  27. اعيذه من شر كل

    ناقد اذا كذب

    He who brings no proof

    Gains nothing from clamour

  28. وهامة اذا زقت

    وغاسق اذا وقب

    O Giver of poetry to us

    You are better than one who gave

  29. من لم يجئ بحجة

    فلا يفيده الصخب

    Time has opposed us

    And time cannot be blamed

  30. يا واهب الشعر لنا

    لأنت خير من وهب

    Our lives did not change

    But time itself changed

  31. الدهر قد عاكسنا

    وما على الدهر عتب

    O poetry, you are all I possess

    Of purpose

  32. ما انقلبت حياتنا

    لكنما الدهر انقلب

    And you, O poetry, are related

    To revelation by lineage

  33. يا شعر انت كل ما

    املكه من النشب

    You are my support against time

    For time is a party

  34. وانت يا شعر الى

    الوحي تمت بالنسب

    Sing, for your roses have not

    Withered nor the water dried up

  35. وانت عون لي على الدهر

    ان الدهر حزب

    Our brothers in our calamity

    Sang of Arab unity

  36. غرد فلا وردك قد

    ذوى ولا الماء نضب

    A people will not attain

    Its goal unless it leaps

  37. اخواننا في رزئنا

    غنوا بوحدة العرب

    No nation gains independence

    On earth without toil

  38. لا يصل الشعب الى

    الغاية الا ان وثب

    Means are necessary

    For everything has a cause

  39. لا تستقل امة

    في الارض من غير تعب

    Night from the face of morning

    Fled after it had gathered and fled

  40. لا بد من وسائل

    فكل شيء بسبب

    The dawn does not lie, its

    Lights have threads

  41. الليل من وجه الصبا

    ح بعدما جن هرب

    My poem bears the delegation

    When the delegation departs

  42. لا يكذب الصبح الذي

    اضواؤه ذات صبب

    Its rhyme I composed

    So it walks surely in the roads

  43. قصيدتي تشيع الوفد

    اذا الوفد ذهب

  44. قافية ركبتها

    فهي تسير بي الخبب
