1. رمت للقوم نهضة في الحياة

    ورجوعاً الى طريق النجاة

    I inspired in my people an awakening to life

    And a return to the path of salvation

  2. واندفاعاً كما قد اندفع الاقوام

    قبلا ويقظة من سبات

    And a surge forward as nations had surged before

    And an awakening from slumber

  3. فبهم صحت ان يهبوا خفافا

    ويجوبوا الطريق بالوثبات

    So I hoped they would spring up lightly

    And traverse the path in leaps

  4. ان يفكوا كالريح عنهم قيودا

    اثقلتهم بكثرة الحلقات

    To cast off the shackles that had weighed them down

    With their excessive links

  5. ان يسيروا من الثقافة في ضو

    ء يقيهم معرة العثرات

    To walk in the light of culture

    That would save them from stumbling

  6. قلت ان الاقوام قد سبقوكم

    فالحقوهم ووسعوا الخطوات

    I said the nations had gone before you

    So pursue them and broaden your strides

  7. قلت هاكم نوراً فظلوا عليه

    يؤثرون البقاء في الظلمات

    I gave you light yet you chose

    To remain in darkness

  8. بالغوا في الجمود حتى كأن

    القوم ناس لم يشعروا بالحياة

    You exceeded in stagnation as if

    You never felt life

  9. لفظوا ما منحتهم من حقوق

    نشدتها الاجيال لفظ النواة

    You shed the rights I granted you

    That generations had sought to gain

  10. رمت انهاضهم فلم يجدوا في

    نفسهم من هوى الى النهضات

    I inspired your rise yet you found

    No desire within yourselves for ascension

  11. شئت تحريرهم فلم يرتضوا

    الا اساراً مستحكم الحلقات

    I wanted your liberation yet you would accept

    Only firmly clasped shackles

  12. فدنوا يكلؤنه في جموع

    زحفت لا تنى عن الهجمات

    So they approached you, constantly attacking

    In relentless offensives

  13. رفضوا النور والسعادة والتحرير

    مزرين بالهدى والهداة

    You rejected light, joy and freedom

    Scornful of guidance and guides

  14. حسنات جزاؤها سيئات

    تلك بئس الجزاء للحسنات

    Good deeds repaid by misdeeds

    What a miserable reward for good deeds

  15. سوف يطرى التاريخ ما لك من

    نفس سما نبلها ومن عزمات

    History will relate what contemptible

    Spirit you had, you who scorned nobility and resolves

  16. انهم فضلوا وللجهل حكم

    ان تظل النساء محتجبات

    They preferred ignorance rule

    That women remain veiled

  17. ولقد تنظر الفتاة اباها

    والاسى ملء تلكم النظرات

    The young girl looks to her father

    With eyes full of that sorrow

  18. اخر المسلمين عمن سواهم

    رهق المسلمين للمسلمات

    Muslims are the last of all others

    Muslims have overwhelmed Muslim women

  19. أتراهم سيرجعون عن الغي

    وعما يجر من ويلات

    Do you think they will desist from waywardness

    And the disasters it entails

  20. ام يقولون هكذا قد وجدنا

    في القديم الآباء والامهات

    Or do they say "Thus we found

    Our fathers and mothers of old"

  21. لا تحول الاخلاق الا ببطء

    انها ميراث من الاموات

    Morals only change slowly

    They are a legacy of the dead

  22. ليس يقوى جهل وان قاد اجنا

    داً على ما للعلم من حملات

    Ignorance cannot be empowered

    Even if it leads the vulgar in attacks

  23. ما لانصاره الكثيرة شأن

    قد تضيع الالوف في الوحدات

    Its great numbers are inconsequential

    Thousands may be lost in the units

  24. قد عزوتم الى السفور غروراً

    طائشاً قد يفضى الى الهفوات

    You have pridefully clung to decadence

    Recklessly courting peril

  25. هل يحول الحجاب بين التي لم

    تتثقف والطيش في الرغبات

    Does the veil prevent she who is uneducated

    From foolhardiness in desires?

  26. بل ارى في الحجاب تسهيل ما

    تخشونه من نكر على الفتيات

    Rather I see the veil facilitates

    What you fear of shame upon the young women

  27. قد وجدت الجمود للهلك ادنى

    ووجدت الحياة في الحركات

    I have found stagnation more akin to demise

    And life found in movement

  28. ايها الداعي أن شعبك ما زال

    الى الماضي ويحده ذا التفات

    O you who call, your people still

    Look to the past, bound by that regard

  29. لا يرى في التجديد قومك الا

    بدعة تقصيهم عن الجنات

    They see nothing in renewal but heresy

    That bars them from Heavens

  30. مصطفى بالاصلاح جاء ولكن

    لم يجد ما وجدت من عقبات

    Mustafa came with reform but found

    The obstacles you have found

  31. نظم الجيش واسترد به از

    مير من بعد خوضه الغمرات

    He organized the army and regained

    Glory after wading hardships

  32. هذه جنة لكم فادخلوها

    وكلوا ما شئتم من الطيبات

    This is your Heaven, enter it

    And eat of its blessings what you wish

  33. انا ارجو لهم اليك مآبا

    وبودي ان لا تخيب رجاتي

    I hope for them to come to you

    And I wish you do not disappoint my hopes

  34. تلك امنيتي فان هي ضاعت

    ذهبت نفسي خلفها حسرات

    That is my wish, if it is wasted

    My soul will be lost in regrets

  35. ان هذي قصيدتي لك فاقرأ

    ها تجدها حقائقاً بينات

    This poem is for you, so read it

    You will find in it clear truths

  36. كل ابيات شعرها نغمات

    فاستمع ساعة الى النغمات

    Each of its verses has melodies

    So listen awhile to the melodies

  37. ليس من طبعها البكاء ولكن

    شربت ماء دجلة والفرات

    Their nature is not to weep yet

    They drank from Euphrates and Tigris

  38. رب شعر كأن ابياته في

    السمع مجموعة من الشهقات

    Some poetry is like its verses

    Are shouts gathered in hearing
