1. جاء الربيع وورّد الرمان

    فكأنما شبت به النيران

    Spring has come and pomegranates have flowered

    As if fire has ignited within them

  2. ما اجمل الليمون يحكى غادة

    جلبابها بلآلئ مزدان

    How beautiful are the citrons narrating Ghadah

    Her cloak adorned with shimmering pearls

  3. لولا علاقات هنالك جمة

    للحب لم تتعانق الاغصان

    If it were not for the many relationships there

    Love would not have embraced the branches

  4. ولقد تفرد كالعروس بقامة

    هيفاء بين المورقات البان

    And it stood alone like a bride with stature

    Eve among the blossoming trees

  5. يا دوح لا تقفن دون السير في

    وجه النسيم فانه عجلان

    O Doha do not stand in the way of the breeze

    For it is hasty

  6. خلب الربيع بحسنه البابنا

    ان الربيع لساحر فتان

    Spring has enchanted us with its beauty

    For spring is a charming magician

  7. في شرخ نيسان الجميل تفتحت

    ازهاره يا حبذا نيسان

    In the crack of beautiful April, it opened

    Its flowers, how great is April!

  8. وكأنما في كل ارض جنة

    تنبثّ فيها الحور والولدان

    It is as if in every land there is a heaven

    In which houris and young lads grow

  9. او مرقص للهو في قاعاته

    تتخاصر الفتيات والفتيان

    Or a ballroom where maidens and lads

    Whisper to one another

  10. حسن الربيع بزهره فكأنما

    خلعت عليه جمالها الازمان

    The beauty of spring is as if

    The times have adorned it with their beauty

  11. أهو الخزام الى جوار شقيقه

    ام لؤلؤ في جنبه مرجان

    Is it kuzam next to its brother

    Or a pearl in its side coral

  12. الورد لا تقطفه من افنانه

    فاخاف ان تتألم الافنان

    Do not pluck the roses from their stems

    For I fear the stems will suffer

  13. انظر اليه من قريب يبتسم

    لك وابتسامات الحسان حسان

    Look at it closely, it smiles at you

    With the smiles of the most beautiful

  14. قد اخرجت للناس زخرفها الثرى

    والسهل والآكام والوهدان

    The land has brought out its decorations

    The plains, the hills and the valleys

  15. وكأنما في كل ارض عصبة

    للحسن فوق رؤوسها تيجان

    It is as if in every land there is a nation

    Of beauty above it are crowns

  16. الشيح والقيصوم والجوريّ و

    الخيريّ والنسرين والحوذان

    Chamomile, mint, jasmine,

    Khairy, narcissus and hawthan

  17. متجمعات في منابتها معاً

    فكأنهن عرائس اخدان

    Clustered in their growth together

    As if they are smiling maidens

  18. تلقى العرائس ثم لا تدري لمن

    منها على اخواتها الرجحان

    Maidens you meet then you do not know

    Which of them is superior to her sisters

  19. في الروض ازهار الربيع بناته

    اما البنات فانهن حسان

    In the meadow the spring flowers are its daughters

    While the daughters are beauties

  20. حي الجمال فانه إما بدا

    فله على كل امرئ سلطان

    Long live beauty, for if it appears

    It has power over everyone

  21. وكأنما زهر الربيع قصيدة

    منثورة والسوسن العنوان

    It is as if the flowers of spring are a poem

    Scattered and the lily is the title

  22. والجلنار كأنه الياقوت قد

    حملته فوق زبرجد قضبان

    And carnation is as if it is ruby

    Carried above aquamarine columns

  23. والاقحوانة ثغرها متبسم

    ابداً كما يتبسم الجذلان

    And the poppy, its mouth always smiles

    As camel calves smile

  24. يلوى البنفسج جيده فكأنه

    بين الازاهر وحده وسنان

    The violet twists its neck so it is as if

    Among the flowers it alone has teeth

  25. حمل الشقيق الى العرار بكفه

    قدحا ومال كأنه نشوان

    The anemone carried in its palm to al-Arar

    A cup leaning as if it is flirting

  26. والنرجس الفياح تنظر عينه

    شزراً اليه كأنه حردان

    And the fragrant narcissus, its eye winks

    Coquettishly as if it is a young doe

  27. والياسمين من الصبا اذ اجهزت

    يرجو الامان وما هناك امان

    The jasmine, when dawn breaks it hopes for

    Safety but there is no safety

  28. وارى الكنار معاتباً في حدة

    للياسمين كأنه غيران

    And I see the dislike accusing

    Jasmine harshly as if it is jealous

  29. صحح ذهابك يا كنار ولا تغر

    فالياسمين من الحسان حصان

    Fix your course ole dislike and do not think wrong

    For jasmine is of the finest horses

  30. والورد من جذب النسيم تشققت

    منه الجبوب الخضر والاردان

    The roses, from the pulling of the breeze

    Green dresses and veils tore

  31. في الليل قد ادجى اذا برق بدا

    شهق الهزار وزغرد الكروان

    At night darkness came then lightning appeared

    The neighing of the thousand and the singing of the locusts

  32. الليل ساج بالدجى متجلبب

    اما النهار فانه عريان

    The night is clad in its darkness dressed

    While daytime is naked

  33. والليل ذو شكّ وان صباحه

    لعلي فساد شكوكه برهان

    And the night is doubtful, and if its dawn

    My doubt will be null by proof

  34. دنيا كما تهوى النفوس جميلة

    لو كان ذا ذوق بها الانسان

    The world is beautiful as souls desire

    If man would taste it with discernment

  35. حبسته عن لذاته اوهامه

    فهو السجين النكد والسجان

    His delusions have imprisoned him

    From pleasures so he is the wretched prisoner and jailer

  36. الطير فوق الدوح يخطب ثائراً

    فيرج منه المنبر الفينان

    The birds above the sand dune complain angrily

    Hoping for the eloquent podium

  37. ما عندليب الروض الا شاعر

    في كل مورقة له ديوان

    The songbird of the garden is none but a poet

    In every blossom he has a collection

  38. كل الازاهر حين يبدو اعين

    واذا شدا فجميعها آذان

    When all the flowers appear they are eyes

    And when closing they are all ears

  39. غرد يبدل نغمة من نغمة

    وكذلكم يتفنن الفنان

    He chirps, changing from one melody to another

    Such is the creativity of the artist

  40. هتفت فانصتت الطيور لصوتها

    ورقاء تخفى جسمها الافنان

    They called out and the birds listened to their voices

    Shy doves hiding their bodies among the branches

  41. في جنة غناء تحت نخيلها

    قد نور الليمون والرمان

    In a paradise of song under its palm trees

    The citrons and pomegranates have shone

  42. البلبل الصيداح موسيقارها

    فاذا شدا خرت له الاذقان

    The passionate nightingale is its musician

    When it chirps the vines bow down to it

  43. يشدو بالحان على مخضرة

    غرداً فتطرب تلكم الالحان

    It sings melodies upon the greenery

    Chirping so those melodies bring joy

  44. وترنمت فوق الغدير جميلة

    عصفورة اوطانها الغدران

    And upon the stream sang beautifully

    A small bird whose homelands betrayed it

  45. تبدو هنالك او هنا فكأنها

    طيف به لا يستقر مكان

    It appears here or there as if an apparition without steady place
