She gave us refuge, afflictions come and go
And I stay as long as my companion stays
She gave us refuge, though we are strangers here
And every stranger is a relative to a stranger
So if you join us, kinship will be between us
And if you shun us, a stranger remains a stranger
She gave us refuge, what is past does not return
And what is to come in time is near
He is not a stranger whom his homelands have abandoned
But he on whom dust has settled is a stranger
