من كان ينكر نوحاً أو سفينَتَه

فإن نوحاً بأمر الله قد عادا

Whoever denied Noah or his ark

For Noah by God's command has returned

حلَّ الوبالُ بعيبالٍ فمالَ به

يا هيبةَ الله إبراقاً وإرعادا

Disaster befell the sinful so it inclined towards him

O awe of God, flashing and thunderous

في جارفٍ كعجيج البحر ظاغيةَ

أمواجُهُ تحمل الأسواقَ امدادا

In a torrent, like the roaring, raging sea

Its waves carrying provisions abundantly

ولا تزالُ من الزلزال باقيةٌ

تذكارُها يوقد الأُكبادَ إيقادا

And still remains of the earthquake

Its memory igniting hearts aflame

منذ احتللتم وشؤْمُ العيش يرهقنا

فقراً وجوْراَ وإتْعاساً وإفسادا

Since you have occupied, the woe of life burdens us

With poverty, injustice, misery and corruption

بفضلكم قد طغى طوفانُ هجرتهم

وكان وعداً تلقَّيناه إيعاداً

Thanks to you, the flood of their migration has overflown

And was a promise we received as a covenant

واليوم من شؤْمكم نُبلى بكارثةٍ

هذا هو الطَّينُ والماءُ الذي زادا

And today from your woes we are worn by a disaster

This is the mud and water that increased
