1. رَوضنا مِن رِياضكم فينان

    وَثَرانا مِن نيلكُم رَيانُ

    Our meadow from your meadows is delighted

    And our Nile from your Nile is sated

  2. وَهَوانا لَو تَقدرون هَوانا

    كُلُّ قَلب مِنهُ لَكُم مَلآن

    And we'd be humiliated if you could humiliate

    Every heart for you is filled

  3. وَبِرَغم العِدا أَواصى قربا

    نا وثاق لَم تَبلها الأَزمان

    In spite of enmity, kinship remains

    Our bond time cannot fray

  4. وَعُيون يَقظى روانٍ إِلَيكُم

    دَمعَها في مصابِكُم لا يُصان

    Eyes keep vigil looking to you

    Their tears for your trials won't go away

  5. إِن سررتم فَفي فلسطين عيد

    أَو حَزِنتُم لَم تَعدُها الأَحزان

    If you're joyous, in Palestine there is feast

    Or if you're saddened, sorrows won't increase

  6. قَد رَأَوا بِالقَناة أَن يَقطعونا

    فَإِذا الدين جسرها وَاللِسان

    They thought the canal could divide us

    But faith is its bridge and tongue likewise

  7. وَإِذا بِالقُلوب تَهفو عَلى الني

    ل ظِماء يودي بِها الخَفَقان

    And hearts yearn for the Nile

    Thirsty, fluttering without guile

  8. أَحسنَ اللَه وردَكُم هَل يُغي

    ض النيلَ كاسٌ يَحيا بِها ظَمآن

    God bless your return, would the Nile be denied?

    A cup by which the thirsty are revived

  9. جئتكُم عاتِباً بَلابلَ مصر

    بلبل الرَوض عتبه أَلحان

    I've come to you complaining, Egypt's nightingale

    The meadow's nightingale with melody and tale

  10. رفرف الشعر فَوقَكُم بِجَناحَي

    ه وَفي ساحكم غَذاه البَيان

    Poetry fluttering over you with its wing

    And in your plain its nourishment wording

  11. وَتَسامى صَرح العُروبة في مِص

    ر وَهَل غَيرَكُم لَهُ أَركان

    The edifice of Arabism towers in Egypt

    And who but you are its pillars kept?

  12. كَم بِلاد تَهزكم لَيسَ فيها

    لَكُمُ جيرة وَلا إِخوان

    So many countries shake you, in them no

    Neighbor of yours nor brethren you know

  13. خَطبنا لا يَهز شَوقي ولَكن

    جاءَ روما فَهَزَّه الرومان

    We proposed, my passion shakes but then

    Rome came and shook the Romans

  14. خَطبنا لا يَهز حافظ إبرا

    هيم لَكن تَهزه اليابان

    We proposed, Hafiz Ibrahim shakes not

    But Japan shakes him a lot

  15. ما لمطران يا فَلسطين شَأن

    بِكَ لَكن لَهُ بنيرونَ شان

    The Bishop, O Palestine, has no affair with you

    Yet Nero certainly gave him travail

  16. سَيَقولون قدست هَذِهِ الأَر

    ض فَما أَن لَنا بِها شَيطان

    They'll say "we sanctified this land"

    As if for them in it no Satan stood

  17. بَل فَلسطين بِالشَياطين مَلأى

    ضَجَتِ الأنس مِنهُم وَالجان

    Nay, Palestine with devils is filled

    Jinn and mankind by them bewildered

  18. إِن بَلَوتُم مِنهُم فَريقاً فإنا

    قَد رَمانا باثنين هَذا الزَمان

    If you tested some of them, we have borne

    Twofold in this age, shamed and worn

  19. فَإِذا المال فاتَ ذاكَ فَهَذا

    قَرِمٌ لا تَفوتهُ الأَبدانُ

    If money goes, that goes, but this

    Stigma won't leave bodies, nonetheless

  20. سَيقولون رَب إخوان صدق

    لَكَ في مصر بَينَهُم أَضغان

    They'll say "Lord, sincere brothers you've assigned"

    "Among them in Egypt cordial ties bind"

  21. قَطَعوا الوَحيَ بِالتَقاطُع عَنا

    إِنَّ هَذا جَزاؤه الحرمان

    They've severed ties, no longer speaking

    For this is the recompense of breaching

  22. تِلكَ شَكوى تَروعني كَيفَ صاروا

    فَعَساها ذِكرى لَهُم كَيفَ كانوا

    These are complaints that terrify me, how they came to be

    May it be a lesson to them, how it used to be
