Do not weep for her, she is gone and her love is dead
In the heart there is room tomorrow for another in her stead
I loved her and I turned her page though many times I read
The wise man reads a book then folds the page and puts it away
O shore of sorrows, how many waves
Crashed in succession, echoing for days
That blossom was so brief before
Her feet could tread the earth once more
The dawn called out her name to the sands
The evening breeze sighed and mourned the end
Pour me a drink and let me sip
To soothe the secret pains that grip
My friend, how could I forget her love
When solace seeks the thoughts thereof
You keep pouring until I forget
The agony that haunts me yet
Of our story and brimming cup
This drink its memory stirs up
My cup, my sun, the one who pressed
The rays to soothe my burning breast
Now fog shrouds it all from view
Behind tears and grief I strain to see anew
Gone are the mists and dreams of old
Evaporated legends told
