A night when my beloved conversed with me
Nothing was more beautiful to me or more beautiful than her
We were amazed by a verse of his beauty
His book was revealed from the hidden eternities
When I asked about what was behind its lines
He glanced at me with his eyes and explained them
Aiming his arrow, surveying my inner self
Targeting whatever destruction he wished to inflict on it
Oh martyred one who did not know her death
Nothing was darker than his eyes or more ignorant than her
Until when nothing remained of her but a breath
He finished off the remaining breath and emptied it out
And turned away from her, leaving her as she bled
The grasp of death enveloped and shaded her
And the last of the night of farewell came
That sweet meeting was the first of it
I gathered her into my wounds that came before
To the old sins that I have already forgiven her for
