For whom are those languid eyes withered,

And whose illusion is cushioned and carried?

O agonies of my heart in its youth,

And pillow of my eyes in the early nights.

No freely flowing teardrop at the eyelids.

    O time, whose secrets

    Minds cannot reach or attain.

For God’s sake, say is there a moment beyond you

That gathered an emigrant beloved and a beloved?

    Beyond it finds life superfluous.

Toil upon toil and I do not attain

    Except successive hardship and leanness.

So when silent, all is said.

Stumbles out of my lips bashfully.

The most agonizing of what the heart endured is a love

That kindled while its seed remained unknown.
