فجرٌ جديد حالم خفاق

لما يزل في عالم الآفاق

A new dawn is dreaming, fluttering,

Still floating in the world of horizons,

توهان في غمم الدجى قلق

بحنينه بالحب بالأشواق

Lost in the mists of dark gloom, restless,

Yearning with love and longings,

ويود لو ضاق الظلام به

فيهب مندفعاً من الأعماق

Wishing the darkness would close in around it,

So it could burst forth powerfully from the depths,

متحرراً من قيد ظلمته

يرنو بعمق الروح بالأحداق

Freed from the shackles of its darkness,

Aspiring with the depth of its soul and keen sight,

فيحس لا شيء ينازعه

ويحول عنه الكون إذ ينساق

Feeling nothing contends with it,

As the universe slides away when it glides forward,

لا شيء ملتفا يعانقه

غير السنا في ضوئه البراق

Nothing clasped around it, embracing it,

Except radiance in its brilliant light,

فيغيب في أحضانه ثملاً

ويعب من فيض الهوى الدفاق

It disappears intoxicated in its arms,

And overflows with the abundant, gushing love,

بانت له الدنيا على قلق

مشتاقة تهفو إلى مشتاق

The world appeared to it troubled,

Yearning, craving for the one who yearns.
