حبٌّ وأفنيت فيها العمر أجمعَه

I loved Mayya with a love that cannot be matched

أُحبُّ عمري الذي في قرب ميَّ وما

قد مرَّ من دونها ما كان أضيعه

I love the life that is spent near Mayya

And I regret whatever of it passed without her

وإن يكن فوق ظنِّي أنّني معه

O Mayya, O my second heart in which I live

Even if beyond my hopes that I am with her

يا بضعة من كيان الصبّ نابضة

بكل حبٍّ به الرحمن أودعه

O a piece of the being of my youth pulsating

With all the love that the Most Merciful endowed in her
