دَعِ المنّ عَن قَوم أَرقوك أَنفسا

كَرائِم فيها عِزّة هي ما هِيا

Leave off blaming a people who distressed you

There are generous qualities in them, they are what they are

وَقِف بَينَنا نُعمى الوَفاء وَربّها

لِتَبقى فَيَبقى شُكرها لَك نامِيا

Stand between us, blindness of loyalty and its Lord

So that it remains and thankfulness for you endures flourishing

واس عَلى الحِباء فَإِنَّما

تَجودُ بِما يفنى وَتعتاض باقِيا

Be generous to loved ones for they

Are generous with what perishes and make up for it with what endures
