تزيده الأيام إن أقبلت

حزماً وعلماً بتصاريفِها

When the days turn favorable toward him, they increase him

in prudence and knowledge of their vicissitudes.

كأنها في وقت إسعافها

تُسمعه صوت تخاريفِها

It is as though, at the very moment they aid him,

they make him hear the sound of their ravings.
