I said: "The sin is mine, though the deed
Is one your actions did proceed.
Apart from me, no sin remains
When once my heart was in your chains.
And if my heart should turn again,
Then I am guilty, not you, men!
Can my heart, while in your court,
Be aught but passion's sport?"
How oft from you does it pretend
Thoughts that ne'er your mind did lend!
