O mother, do not grieve for what befalls us

Of tribulations, nor lament what is past

Fates run their course in us, the Judge's rule is just

And God apportions livelihood and sustenance

    Each tightness moves toward relief

Ease has a time like hardship's time

Lost is he who hopes to delay his fate

He died like Ishmael's ram, he died
