I love you, though I keep it hidden
And a lover's heart, as you know
How can I complain of love's fires
When you neither eulogize nor pity?
Thus without crime or slip
This Muslim man is killed
If you do not consent to killing a man
Where did this blood come from on your cheek?
Not to be trusted with a glance
Is one who has mischief in his eyes
Enough for lovers tried
By love, that I am one of them
