نظرت من البستان أحسن منظر

وقد حجبَ الأغصانُ شمسَ المشارق

I gazed from the garden at the finest view

The branches concealed the rising sun

إلى دوح كمثرى يلوحُ كأنه

قناديلُ تبر محكماتُ العلائقِ

Towards a palm tree blossoming as though

It were lanterns of musk and finest composition

وسافرة عن أوجهٍ من سفرجلٍ

يحيل على معنًى من الحسن فائقِ

And it travels from faces of yellow orchil

Which alludes to a meaning of surpassing beauty

حكت سرر الغاداتِ منها أسافلٌ

وتحكي أعاليها نهود العواتقِ

It related the secrets of maidens, some lowly

And the tops tell of the swaying of maidens
