وكم بيضاءَ مسكيٍّ قناها
من الإغرِيضِ حسناءِ الجميعِ
And how many white musky maidens I sheltered
Of all the beautiful maidens
هتكتُ حجابها عنها فأبدتْ
لسانَ البحرِ في يبسِ الضريعِ
I unveiled their veils from them and they displayed
The tongue of the sea on the barren land
أو العضدَ الطريةَ حينَ أبقتْ
بها آثارها حلقُ الدروعِ
Or the soft upper arm when it retained
On it the traces - the rings of the coats of mail
