1. أَذا بَرَدٌ تَحَدَّرَ مِنْ غَمامٍ

    عَلَيْنا أَمْ تَناثَرَتِ النجومُ

    When cold rain falls from clouds above,

    Or shooting stars descend in showers of love,

  2. إِذا أَتَتِ السَّماءُ بِمِثْلِ هذا

    فما بالُ الْقِيامَةِ لا تَقُومُ

    If heaven can create such wonders as these,

    Why does not resurrection come with ease?

  3. وَإِلاَّ فَهْيَ شُهْبٌ ثاقِباتٌ

    وَكُلُّ النَّاسِ شَيْطانٌ رَجيمُ

    But if they're just illusive meteors we see,

    Then all mankind's a cursed devilry.
