O you towering pillar of glory and generosity
Lofty, sturdy, firmly founded base
No wonder the thoroughbred stumbles and falls
When feet slip on dew and mail coats
For you have burdened him with the heaviest of noble duties
And he has wilted after long enduring them
Until you gave him his head, and let slip his reins
Racing ahead of all others toward the ultimate goals
Unable to bear what you made so weighty
He fell just as a firmly planted tall tree falls
Never could a racing steed bear and run
With the mountain of highest rank on his back
So let the envious churl go wanting what he has
And find but despair in his hopes
And relax in comfort, breathing sweet breaths
Peacefully spending long nights
