نَزلنا من بَرار بكلِّ وادٍ

وَلَيسَ لنا بأرض مِن قَرارِ

We descended from the wilderness into every valley

Yet we have no place of rest in the land

وَقَد كانَت منازلُنا قصوراً

وَنحن اليوم ننزل في براري

And our dwellings were once palaces

But today we camp in the wilderness
