Who adorned your radiant dawn with dew,
And singled out your smiling pearls with gaps?
Conspired is the magic in your eyelids,
Agreeing to entice modesty with coyness and playfulness.
Doubled are the roses on your cheeks when
The musky fragrance of your cheek shows through the veil.
The roses gained sweet aroma from your meadow,
As if drawing legitimacy from your blossoming branches.
How much beauty you're peculiarly characterized with,
Ranging between peerless and doubled.
Not every pleasant one, whose beauty pleases,
Contains the pleasures of this delightful scene.
Whoever desired your beauty, saw no other beauty,
In the brilliance of sun, no need for lanterns.
The full moon and rising sun were almost your match,
In dawn they both rise, if not for some crookedness.
None of your handsome features resembled others,
Except for the crescent, somewhat crooked as it is.
How can one who fell for you survive,
When your glance is a sword leaving no soul inside?
Take heed and leave those who died for you saying:
I'm the wronged corpse, no sin or shame in that.
For you I lost my chastity, unapologetic,
In your chastity lies my clear excuse.
How can I wake sane, when you have intoxicated me
With pure undiluted love?
Those in love with you swooned, I swooned too,
But my heart remains undisturbed for you.
Far is the lover who left depressed,
From the lover made joyous by love's injustice.
O you who provokes with your blows in passionate love,
Robbing the minds of other passionate lovers.
If your beauty finds no way into my onlooker,
Then let there be listening, and blame me for deafness.
It settled beautifully in my heart when I desired it,
And love to me is sweeter than your bitter aloofness.
I have nights, darkened then lit up,
Wherein the journey is pleasant and lamp everlasting.
From its mornings a dawn, if it lights upon us,
Dispelling darkness with a shining flood.
No wonder, if his glances tempted my heart,
Unlike that playful teasing glance.
I wasn't the first whose innermost was set ablaze
By the fires of youth and ever-burning fervor.
So his heart is scorched with burning passion,
And his eyelids drown in oceans of tears.
I sigh for the wind if it passes by a beloved,
Yearning for one whose heart quivers with yearning.
Would that a morning breeze blows to us,
Meandering the air with fragrance and trees.
Relating tales of the lovers' abode and wandering,
Exciting all hearts with passion's stir.
Did the zephyrs of the neighborhood wander and whisper
To the passionate lover, giving relief?
It came with good tidings of union, singing:
The tidings are hardships of love, so rejoice!
