1. يا صاحِ هَذا المَشهدُ الأَقدسُ

    قَرَّت به الأَعينُ والأنفُسُ

    O owner of this most sacred scene

    That delights the eyes and souls

  2. وَالنّجفُ الأَشرفُ بانَت لَنا

    أَعلامُهُ وَالمَعهَدُ الأَنفَسُ

    And the most noble Najaf has appeared to us

    With its signs, the most fragrant shrine

  3. والقبَّةُ البَيضاءُ قد أَشرقَت

    يَنجابُ عن لألائِها الحِندِسُ

    And the white dome has shone

    Its tiles gleam like chrysolite

  4. حضرةُ قُدسٍ لم يَنَل فضلَها

    لا المَسجد الأَقصى ولا المقدِسُ

    A sacred precinct whose merit

    Neither the Aqsa Mosque nor the Temple can match

  5. جلَّت بِمَن حلَّ بها رتبةً

    يقصرُ عنها الفَلَكُ الأَطلسُ

    Exalted by the one whose rank herein

    Is beyond what the celestial sphere can encompass

  6. تودُّ لو كانَت حَصى أَرضِها

    شهبُ الدُجى والكُنَّسُ الخُنَّسُ

    It wishes that the gravel of its land

    Were the stars of night and silk brocade

  7. وَتحسدُ الأقدامَ منّا عَلَى الس

    سَعي إلى أَعتابِها الأرؤسُ

    And that feet were envious of us

    For hastening to its noble thresholds

  8. فقف بها واِلثم ثرى تُربها

    فَهي المقامُ الأَطهَرُ الأَقدَسُ

    So stop at it and kiss its dust

    For it is the most pure, most holy station

  9. وَقل صَلاةٌ وَسَلامٌ عَلى

    من طابَ منه الأَصلُ والمَغرِسُ

    And say a prayer and peace

    Upon him whose origin and roots are pure

  10. خَليفةُ اللَهِ العَظيم الَّذي

    من ضوئِه نورُ الهدى يُقبَسُ

    The caliph of God Almighty

    From whose light comes illuminated guidance

  11. نَفسُ النَبيِّ المُصطَفى أَحمَدٍ

    وَصنوه وَالسيِّدُ الأرأَسُ

    The soul of the Chosen Prophet Ahmad

    And his grandfather the most noble chief

  12. العلمُ العَيلمُ بحرُ النَدى

    وَبرُّهُ وَالعالِمُ النِقرِسُ

    The knowing scholar, ocean of dew

    And righteousness and piercing star

  13. فَليلُنا من نورِه مُقمِرٌ

    وَيَومُنا من ضَوئه مُشمِسُ

    So our night by his light is luminous

    And our day by his brilliance sunny

  14. أَقسِمُ باللَه وآياتِهِ

    أَليَّةً تنجي ولا تُغمِسُ

    I swear by God and His manifest signs

    That save and do not submerge

  15. أَنَّ عليَّ بن أَبي طالبٍ

    منارُ دينِ الحقِّ لا يُطمَسُ

    That Ali ibn Abi Talib

    Is the beacon of the religion of truth that cannot be erased

  16. ومن حباهُ اللَه أَنباءَ ما

    في كُتبه فهو لها فِهرِسُ

    And he to whom God granted knowledge

    Of what is in His books is their index

  17. أَحاطَ بالعِلم الَّذي لم يُحِط

    بمثله بليا ولا هرمسُ

    He encompassed the knowledge which none encompassed

    Not a Valius nor a Hermes

  18. هَذا أَميرُ المؤمنين الَّذي

    شَرائعُ اللَه به تُحرَسُ

    This is the Commander of the Faithful by whom

    God's laws are guarded

  19. وحجَّةُ اللَه الَّتي نورُها

    كالصُبح لا يَخفى ولا يبلسُ

    And God's proof whose light

    Is like the dawn, obscure to none

  20. تاللَه لا يَجحَدها جاحِدٌ

    إلّا اِمرؤٌ في غيِّه مُركَسُ

    By God, none denies it but a man lost

    In misguidance, fallen into error

  21. المعلِنُ الحقَّ بلا خَشيَةٍ

    حَيثُ خَطيبُ القوم لا يَنبِسُ

    The declaimer of truth without fear

    Where the people's speaker is mute

  22. وَالمقحمُ الخَيلَ وَطيسَ الوغى

    إِذا اِتَّقاها البطلُ الأحوسُ

    The charger into fray and dust of battle

    When the intrepid hero takes fright

  23. جلبابُه يومَ الفَخارَ التُقى

    لا الطيلسانُ الخزُّ والبُرنُسُ

    His cloak on the day of pride is piety

    Not satin, brocade, and figured cloth

  24. يرفلُ من تَقواه في حُلَّةٍ

    يحسدُها الدِيباجُ والسُندسُ

    He is clad in a robe of piety envied

    By satin and silk

  25. يا خيرة اللَه الَّذي خَيرُه

    يشكرُه الناطِق والأخرسُ

    O elect of God whose excellence

    Is thanked by speaker and mute alike

  26. عبدُك قد أَمَّك مُستَوحِشاً

    مِن ذَنبِه للعفو يَستأنِسُ

    Your abject servant has come to you lonely

    From his sins hoping for kindness

  27. يَطوي إليكَ البحرَ والبرَّ لا

    يُوحشُه شيءٌ ولا يؤنِسُ

    Roaming the land and sea, nothing

    Makes him lonely or keeps him company

  28. طوراً على فُلكٍ به سابحٍ

    وَتارة تَسري به عِرمسُ

    Now on a ship sailing the sea

    Now traveling on camel-back

  29. في كُلِّ هَيماءَ يَرى شَوكُها

    كأَنَّه الريحانُ والنرجسُ

    In every desolate place, he sees its thorns

    As if aromatic herbs and basil

  30. حتّى أَتى بابَك مُستَبشِراً

    ومن أَتى بابَك لا يَيأسُ

    Until he came, hopeful, to your door

    And whoever comes to your door does not despair

  31. أَدعوكَ يامَولى الورى موقناً

    أَنَّ دعائي عنك لا يُحبَسُ

    I call upon you, O Lord of mankind, certain

    That my prayer to you will not be contained

  32. فنجِّني من خطب دَهرٍ غدا

    لِلجسم منّي أَبَداً يَنهَسُ

    So save me from the misfortunes of a time

    That seeks to tear my body apart forever

  33. هَذا وَلَولا أَمَلي فيكَ لَم

    يقرَّ بي مثوىً ولا مجلِسُ

    And if not for my hope in you

    No shelter or sitting-place would give me peace

  34. صَلّى عليك اللَه من سَيِّدٍ

    مَولاهُ في الدارين لا يُوكَسُ

    May God bless the noblest

    Master in both abodes matchless

  35. ما غرَّدت وَرقاءُ في رَوضَةٍ

    وَما زهت أَغصانُها الميَّسُ

    The warbler has not trilled in any garden

    Nor have its branches waved in joy
