1. نقل الغرام حديث دمعي مرسلا

    وحكاه عن جفني القريح مسلسلا

    I conveyed the passion of my teary message

    And my talent recounted it in succession

  2. وروى النسيم حديث ذياك الحمى

    وسألت منه متى اللقا فتعللا

    The breeze narrated the words of that fever

    I asked it when we will meet but it excused

  3. يا ليته لي كان حملا طيبا

    وشذا حماه إل المشوق تحملا

    I wish it was a good omen

    With aroma it takes to the longing one

  4. ارض اذا الوسمي باكرها ربت

    وشممت منها عنبرا وقرنفلا

    A land, if the brand marks it in the morning

    I sensed ambergris and carnation from it

  5. واذا غريب الدار حل بها غدا

    من اهلها في رفعة وتأهلا

    And if a foreigner of the land stays there tomorrow

    He is treated with glory and nobility by its people

  6. وبها منازله فليس يشوقه

    من بعدها ذكرى حبيب لا ولا

    And it has dwellings so he doesn't yearn

    After it for the memory of a beloved or kin

  7. بلد بها طفلا نشأت ولم ازل

    ابدا على ابياتها متطفلا

    A land I was raised as a child and still

    Forever intruding upon its verses

  8. في ذكر عاصيها يروق اذا جرى

    ويزيد في الدولاب فيه تغزلا

    Mentioning its disobedient one is pleasant when it flows

    And it increases in the spinning wheel its twisting

  9. لله ما احلاه دولابا لقد

    ابدى لنا دورا به وتسلسلا

    By God, how beautiful is its spinning wheel

    It has shown us eras with it and succession

  10. سقيا لهاتيك النواعير التي

    في كل روض قد ارتنا جدولا

    Watered for these springs that

    We have planted in every garden a stream

  11. واها لايام لنا مرت بها

    من بعدها والله عيشي ما حلا

    Oh, the days we had passed by

    After them, by God, my life did not sweeten

  12. قسما بما قضيت بين شطوطها

    لا ملت يوما عن شريعتها إلى

    I swear by what I spent between its banks

    I never deviated a day from its path

  13. كلا ولا من بعد كوثر مائها

    يشتاق قلبي في الموارد منهلا

    Never, even after its abundant waters

    Does my heart yearn for another spring

  14. لولا بقاياه وحقك في فمي

    ما قلت شعرا بعدها وترسلا

    If not for its ruins and your right over my mouth

    I would not have recited poetry after it and corresponded

  15. يا ساكني مغنى حماة نعمتم

    وليهنكم دار السعادة منزلا

    O inhabitants of Magna Hamah, you are blessed

    And fortunate, the house of happiness is your abode

  16. لا تحسبوا عنكم تبدل في الهوى

    قلبي وحاشا ان اقول تبدلا

    Do not think in passion my heart changes for you

    And far from me to say it changes

  17. او غبتم عن ناظري فخيالكم

    ابدا بقلبي لا يزال مخيلا

    Or you disappeared from my sight but your apparition

    Remains forever imagining in my heart

  18. لكن عليّ الدهر اخنى واعتدى

    ظلما وبالغ في البعاد وطولا

    But time has wronged me and transgressed

    Unjustly, distancing extremely

  19. وشربت كأس البين منه منزعا

    صبرا لعل الدهر ان ينتقلا

    And I drank the cup of separation from it forcibly

    Hoping time would transition

  20. ما ضر لو جاد الزمان بها كما

    قد كنت قبل اليوم فيها اولا

    No harm if time yielded it as it was

    Before this day, my first in it

  21. وعلى اليسير جعلت ما ملكت يدي

    عند التلاقي مجملا ومفصلا

    And I made little into what my hand possessed

    When we met, wholesome and detailed

  22. والعين كنت لها بذلت دماءها

    ذهبا جرى وعلى الخدود تسلسلا

    My eyes, I would have spilled its blood

    As gold flows and drips on cheeks in succession

  23. وارى الربوع المشرقات وبدرها

    وبها جلال الدين مشكاة العلا

    And I see the blossoming meadows and its full moon

    In it is the glory of the religion, lantern of the high

  24. قاضي القضاة وواحد العصر الذي

    كم غامض ابدى وأوضح مشكلا

    The judge of judges and unique of an era

    He clarified many ambiguities and elucidated problems

  25. نجل الكرام الطيبين ومن حوى

    نسبا ومجدا عاليا ومؤثلا

    The son of the kind nobles, who contained

    A high lineage and celebrated origin

  26. بحر سريع الجود الا انه

    طابت مصادره ومورده حلا

    A sea swift of generosity except

    Its sources and springs are sweet

  27. لا عيب فيه غير ان يمينه

    تولي النوال سجية وتفضلا

    No fault in him but his hand

    Takes to bestowal congenitally and preferentially

  28. واذا اتى يوما اليه سائل

    ابدى سرورا وجهه وتهللا

    And if a beseecher comes to him one day

    He shows happiness, delight on his face

  29. اوفى واوفر في الندى من حاتم

    جودا وفي الامثال اضحى امثلا

    More fulfilling and abundant in gifts than Hatim

    In generosity, and in proverbs most ideal

  30. واذا تلا وعظ فقسٌ فصاحة

    وتراه من سحابن ابلغ مقولا

    And if he recites advice, listen to his eloquence

    You see him rain clouds, most effective utterance

  31. ان قلت ليث فهو اعظم سطوة

    او قلت غيث فهو منه اجزلا

    If I say lion, he is greatest in might

    Or say rain, from it most copious

  32. ايامه اضحت ربيا كلها

    فلذاك طاب زمانها وتعدلا

    His days have become plentiful

    Thus, his era is pleasant and just

  33. هو روضة العليا وبهجة دوحها

    لمن اجتنى روض المعالي واجتلى

    He is the garden of the highest and joy of its valley

    For whoever avoids the garden of highness and is purified

  34. نالت به آل النصيبي رفعة

    وسمت به شرفا إلى درج العلا

    Through him the Al-Nusaybi family attained elevation

    And he labeled them with honor to the level of highest

  35. مولاي دعوة تخلص وافى بها

    يرجو ويسأل ان تجاب وتقبلا

    My patron, an honest prayer he fulfilled it

    Hoping it is answered and accepted

  36. فلقد جنى دهري علي وخانني

    يا ليته مما جناه تنصلا

    For time has wronged me and betrayed me

    If only from what it did, it retreated

  37. وأضر بي مر السؤال وقبله

    قد كان حالي حاليا فتعطلا

    The bitterness of begging harmed me and before it

    My state was disabled and hindered

  38. وغدوت من بعد الموالي لا ارى

    بيضا ولا صفرا لديّ ولا ولا

    I have become after wealth seeing

    No white or yellow, neither money nor belongings

  39. فامدد إلى نحوي يمينا طالما

    جادت علي تفضلا وتطولا

    So extend to me a hand for as long

    As it has bestowed favors and been generous

  40. فلعل صبح نداح تشرق شمسه

    وارى ظلام الفقر ولى وانجلى

    Perhaps the dawn of daylight will rise, its sun

    And I see the darkness of poverty leave me and clear out

  41. لا زال ذكرك بالمحامد نشره

    مسكا يضوع لنا شذاه ومندلا

    The mention of you continues spreading musk

    Its aroma emanating to us and writhing

  42. وإلى سما العلياء ترقى صاعدا

    والضد يهبط نازلا يهوي إلى

    And to the sky of the highest it ascends

    While the opposite descends, falling to the lowest
