يا من به رقّ شعري

وراق بالنعت وصفه

O you whose delicacy my poetry praises

And whose description my words elegantly portray

قد مزّق النشر شاشي

والقصد شيء الفه

The recital has torn my heart to shreds

Yet the intent remains obscure and vague
