What have you prepared for death? For surely
death has been decreed for you, beyond all doubt.
Are they sins that outnumber the very pebbles?
Wretched is what you amassed from the earnings of your own hands.
How dreadful is what is heard of those sins’ enormity:
the grave’s two angels hear it from your own two angels.
What a crushing calamity there is in a slumber—
the Resurrection awakens your two eyes to it!
And the Ṣirāṭ—you will not cross it safely when
a misstep of your two feet treads upon it.
Then woe from the Fire is yours, if
the All-Merciful’s eye does not look upon you.
