With a beauty like an idol poured upon the earth
I tore from her a cloak at midnight
I visited lovers and foes other than her
Like embers that ignite the eyes with rage
And I trod without the quarter fire of enmity
If iron had trodden it, it would have melted
With a passion that revived my separation, and if
It was cast upon the crevice of youth, it would have ignited
In the expanse of the robber of the horizon running with her
A vein that settled in the carpenter and was aromatic
With emeralds, if they climbed Mount Safa
Their insides would have fallen upon it as hail
And we almost drank from the loftiness of her neck
Water that the winds drive with clouds
It startled the raven of the night in me as if
I rode an eagle to hunt it from her
And my companion is anger as if his fleas
Were insects accompanying him and flies
As if a sun in the brilliance of its water
Beating him with its rays and reflection
And the dawn has pushed away the haze of the stars
As if it were a torrent driving bubbles
