1. ثلاثةُ أفلاكٍ عن العين مُضمرهْ

    تدور إذا حرّكتها في حشَا كُرَه

    Three orbits hidden from the eye

    Revolve when set in motion in their orbits

  2. فلا فَلَكٌ إلّا يُخَصُّ بدورةً

    موافقةٍ منها الخلافَ مُقَرَّره

    No orbit but has its own circuit

    In harmony, their discord determined

  3. وللفلك النّارِيِّ مِنهُنَّ كَفَّةٌ

    ترى النّارَ فيها للبخور مُسَعّره

    The fiery orbit controls a basin

    Where embers blaze for incense

  4. تَمُرُّ على فُرُشِ الحريرِ وغَيرها

    وراءَ حجابٍ وهيَ غَيرُ مُؤثِّره

    Passing over silk carpets and more

    Behind a veil, having no effect

  5. وتبدي دخاناً صاعداً من منَافِسٍ

    مُصَنْدَلَةٍ أنْفاسُهُ ومُعنبَرَه

    Emitting rising smoke from censers

    Scents wafting, fragrant

  6. ولم أرَ ناراً تطعم الندّ قبلها

    لها فَلَكٌ في الأرض في جَوفِ مجمَرَه

    Never have I seen a fire that feeds the wet wood

    With an orbit in earth, amidst hot embers

  7. تُلطِّفُ أجْساماً كثافاً بلذعها

    فتصعدُ أرواحاً لطافاً مُعَطَّرَه

    Refined dense bodies with its bite

    Exalts sublime, fragrant spirits

  8. وتَغشى علِيّاً نَفحةٌ كَثَنائِهِ

    مُرَدّدَةٌ في مَدحه ومُكَرَّرَه

    Bathing Ali with breaths like his sighs

    Echoing his praise, repeating

  9. هُمامٌ إذا سَلَّ المُهَنَّدَ في الوَغى

    وَأَغمَدَهُ في الهامِ بِالضربِ حَمَّرَه

    A hero, when war cries unsheathe swords for the fray

    Bloodied in righteous fury

  10. رَزينُ حَصاةِ الحِلمِ شَهمٌ مُهَذَّبٌ

    تَرى مِنهُ بَدراً في السريرِ وَقَسوَرَه

    A dignified chieftain, refined

    You’d see in him a full moon on its throne

  11. بَنى سَعدُه قَصراً على البحرِ سامِياً

    فتحسبُهُ من جوهر الحسن صَوّرَه

    Saad built a lofty palace by the sea

    You'd think it molded from the essence of beauty

  12. يُنيرُ على البعدِ ائتِلاقاً كَأَنَّما

    على الشطِّ لقى لجُّهُ منه جَوهَرَه

    Illuminating afar with glittering light

    As if its pearls were strewn on the shore

  13. أبَرّ على إيوان كسرى فلو رأى

    مراتِبَهُ في الملك منه لأكبَرَه

    Nobler than the hall of Kisra, if he saw

    Its place in kingship, he would esteem it greater
