1. وزاهدٍ في المالِ لا يَنْثَني

    في قِمَمِ العَلياءِ عن حِرْصِهِ

    And one who renounces wealth and does not amass it,

    Within his heart, loftiness keeps him aloof from greed.

  2. لَيسَتْ تَرى عَيناهُ شِبْهاً له

    مُبَرّأً في الفضْلِ من نقصهِ

    His eyes behold no one like him,

    Purged, in excellence, of every defect.

  3. كَأَنَّمَا العالمُ مرآتُهُ

    فما يرى فيها سِوَى شَخْصِهِ

    It is as though the whole world were his mirror,

    And in it he sees nothing but his own image.
