Alas, my Lord, every pleasure demands a cup
That you have feasted on all night, my flesh
Yes, if you could, you would take my blood as your drink
In cups carved from my bones
Peace be upon you, kindle the fires of your war
For I overflow with the water of my peace and restraint
If you eat my flesh, it has consequences
Beyond the consequences of injustice
And I have words my nature has released
Of praise for what reason has gleaned beyond blame
