دَعُوا عَبَرَاتي تَنْبري من شؤونها

فلن تصرفوا تَوكافَهُنّ عن الوكفِ

Let my tears flow freely from their source

For you cannot divert their pouring from the eyelids

ويحملُ دمعُ العين عن قلبيَ الأسى

ولكنه يبدي هوايَ الذي أُخْفي

And the tears of the eyes convey the sorrow from my heart

Yet they reveal my secret love I hide
