سألتُها أن تُعيدَ لَفْظاً

قالتْ أصمّ دعوه يعذرْ

I asked her to repeat a word,

She said, "Deaf one, let it pass."

حديثُهَا سكرٌ شهيّ

وأطيبُ السكرِ المُكَرَّر

Her talk is sweet intoxication,

And sweetest is repeated intoxication.
