يا قومِ عالَجْتُ أَيري

بالحشوِ لمَّا تكعَّكْ

O people, I doctored my she-camel

With stuffing, as it was limping,

ولمْ يصحّ ودَادِي

من غادَةٍ مُذْ تَوَعَّكْ

Yet my love did not get well

For one who got stuffed since you stuffed her
