قامَ فلمَّا دَنَوْتُ منها

نامَ وما مثلُ ذاكَ خجلهْ

He stood up but when I approached her

She slept though that wasn't like her shyness

وكلَّ كفِّي لفرطِ جَذْبِي

لهُ وما للجبانِ حملهْ

And both my palms out of my intense pulling

Of him though the coward has no endurance

وأصبعي لا تزالُ جنباً

لهُ ولا همَّة لسِفْلهْ

And my finger kept hovering over

Him though the base has no ambition

فزَحْزَحَتْ وانْثَنَتْ وقالتْ

قومُوا انظرُوا عاشِقاً بوصلهْ

So she wiggled away and bent over and said

Get up look a lover in his union

فقلتُ هذا لفرطِ حُبِّي

قالتْ دع الترَّهاتِ باللهْ

So I said this is out of my intense love

She said leave this nonsense for God's sake

قلتُ أُقيمُ الدليلَ قالتْ

لو قامَ ما احتجتَ للأَدلَّهْ

I said I'll provide the proof she said

If it could stand you wouldn't need proof
