يا من إليها من ظلمها الهرب

ردي فؤادي فقل ما يجب

O you who flees from her oppression into darkness

Return my heart and say what must be said

ردي حياتي إن كنت منصفة

ثم إليك الرضا أو الغضب

Return my life if you are just

Then to you will be contentment or anger

طلبت قلبي فلم أفتك به

سبحان من لا يفوته الطلب

You wanted my heart but could not grasp it

Glory to Him who nothing escapes from His grasp
