The clouds rumbled in harmony with thunder,
So rise a little, not by command.
Rise, bring the purest when it tinkles,
In the goblet, from an abandoned teardrop,
From a virgin's hand that has a cheek,
In which the eyes of the maidens wander in confusion.
She spoke and pearl sprinkled,
From the breath of narcissus and myrtle.
Her breaths diffused an aroma,
That smile from the scent of camphor.
The night and the tenth tell me,
Since yesterday, an uncovered saying:
“Are you Muslim?” I said yes outwardly,
But inwardly I am absorbed in wine.
Because of this since you both came,
I have been between intoxicated and drunk.
So enjoy the day of Eid and sit for it,
In solitude, a sitting of joy.
Make clear in it with the goblets that,
Drip between clouds and thunder.
From every goblet whose insides,
Are sweeter than pork meat.
Prepare the lute and direct it,
Until we pray with tambourines.
The first bowing is my haste,
And the bowing of peace is my drunkenness.
This is the Eid prayer, it is not equal,
For you to permit and for me to shorten.
