Listen to my call, O independent one

Calling out from the absence of laziness

And a convulsion of every long misfortune

And safe from the injustice of enemies

And sleeping on the misdeeds of the wicked

You see me in sincere resolves

That recoiled into the gloom of frail adversity

But how much time has passed me by

With its calamities upon the path

    Revealing my weakness and cunning

And my sharp contradictions in speech

And throwing, from the bow of intense darkness

Arrows that struck the noble literature

A father and sons, from an impregnable honor

They have avoided a lost hope

That shed blood upon a smooth cheek

And flaming adversity, a long malady

From which he sighed from a polished sword

And those are my means, the path of floods

    Doves moaning with cooing

    Perhaps your satisfaction one day

Will settle in my courtyard after a little while

And will ring in your ears, O honorable one

For us in the stumbling of a submitting servant

To you I have presented the first fruits of meaning

    Excuses of gentle acceptance

A bracelet in the darkness without stars

An abyss in the wasteland without a guide
