هل أَنت مُدْرِكُ آمالي فمحييها

ومُبْدِلِي فِي الورى من ذِلَّتِي تِيها

Can you grasp my hopes, so revive them,

And change my humiliation in the world to loss?

بلحظةٍ تقتضِي مِنِّي مكارِمَهَا

هدِيَّةً لَكَ حازَ السبقَ مُهْدِيها

With a glance that requires of me its nobilities,

A gift to you who attained precedence in guiding them.

جواهراً من بحورِ العلمِ لَيْسَ لَهَا

إِلَّا استماعكَها قدرٌ يُسَاوِيهَا

Gems from oceans of knowledge that have no

Worth except your listening, a value equalling them,

حتى ترى الطِّرْفَ فِي كَرَّاتِ فارِسِهِ

وَالكاعِبَ الرُّوَد فِي أَثوابِ جَاليها

Until you see elegance in the orbits of its horsemen,

And the eloquent speaker in the garb of its manifestations.

عسى الَّذِينَ نأَوْا عنِّي أُخْبِّرُهم

بأَنَّ نَفْسِيَ مبلوغٌ أَمَانِيهَا

Perhaps those who avoided me, I will inform them

That my soul has attained its wishes.
