We have made our proposal, and the guardian has consented

Knowing that the suitor is adequate

We have sent the bride wealth in prose and verse

It is right that the gifts be brought forth

Oh Abu Ja'far, after such a long wait

It is past time five that the stallion be saddled

Is it just that you leave her longing

While at your side is the well-bred steed
