استَقْبِلِ العِزَّ مَرْفُوعاً بِهِ عَلَمُكْ

واسْتَوْثقِ الأمنَ مَحْفوظاً بِهِ ذِمَمُكْ

Raise high the banner of glory, under which your nation prospers,

And cherish the security of covenants, which safeguard your people's trust.

واستَطْلِعِ السَّعْدَ من أفْقٍ إلى أفْقٍ

كواكباً تَتَلالا فَوقَها هِمَمُكْ

Survey the horizons for good fortune, with aspirations higher than the stars,

And open the doors of destiny, whose keys are either your swords against enemies, or your favors towards friends.

واسْتَفْتِحِ الدَّهرَ أبواباً مفاتِحُها

إمَّا سيوفُكَ فِي الأعداءِ أو نِعَمُكْ

Bestow favors generously, for we have gained an auspicious share

In the state of glory, which won that share through your rule.

أَجزِلْ بِهَا نِعَماً فُزْنا بِهَا قِسَماً

فِي دَوْلَةِ العِزِّ إذ فازَتْ بِهَا قِسَمُكْ

If your sword ignites against enemies in battle,

It will light a fire whose glow reflects your generosity.

فإنْ نَحا سَيْفُكَ الأعداءَ مُضْطَرِماً

ناراً أنارَ لَنَا فِي صَفْحِهِ كَرَمُكْ

And if their lands all become sanctuaries for you,

Your sanctuary will embrace us through your benevolence.

وإن غَدَا كُلُّ رَحْبٍ من بِلادِهِمُ

عَليْهِمُ حُرُماً أفضى بنا حَرَمُكْ

For us you are like the day, smiling, while for enemies you are darkness,

A night when their eyes evoke your pardon, and your vengeance screams within them,

فأنت كالدَّهْرِ مُمْساهُ ومُصْبَحِهِ

لَنَا ضُحاكَ وَفِي أعدائنا ظُلَمُكْ

And when your clemency makes them imagine your horses,

Your clemency towards the guilty is but your clemency.

ليلٌ إذا هَوَّمَتْ فيهِ عيونُهمُ

بذكْرِ عفوِكَ صاحَتْ فيهمُ نِقَمُكْ

For this the Merciful made you two lights for us,

Exalting the greatness of both and magnifying your prestige,

وإن تَخَيَّلَ خَيْلاً منكَ حُلْمُهُمُ

فإنَّ حِلْمَكَ عن جانِيهِمُ حُلُمُكْ

Glorifier of your lofty, chosen state - your sword in battle, your standard as emblem.

And if one day they are softened by your kindness, that will be your sublime seal, and your ready pen.

لِمِثْلِها أنشَأَ الرَّحْمنُ منكَ لَنا

نورَيْنِ عَظَّمَ من قَدْرَيْهِما عِظَمُكْ

You encompass all horses and warriors like triumph and opening,

And restrain the violent like prohibition and prevention, to guard the nation through your protection.

مُعِزَّ دَوْلَتِكَ العُلْيا وصَفْوَتَها

هَذَا حُسامُكَ فِي الهيجا وذا عَلَمُكْ

Your noble rule's foundation never falters in any endeavor,

For in its pride your feet have transcended all efforts.

وإنْ تَرَدَّتْهُما عِطْفاكَ يَوْمَ رِضاً

فَذَاكَ خَاتِمُكَ الأسنى وذَا قَلَمُكْ

You named it "Warner of Foes," so triumphs and gladdening tidings through it will never cease,

Aspiring towards your lofty ranks which for it encompass every fortune.

كالنَّصْرِ والفتحِ شَمْلاً أنتَ جامعُهُ

لكلِّ خيلِ وغىً فرسانُها حَشَمُكْ

Rightfully it fulfills the promise of one you do not accuse

Of insincerity or favoritism - for loyalty and fairness you do not doubt.

وكالنُهى والمُنى فيمن شَدَدتَ به

للملكِ عِصْمَةَ مشدودٍ بِهِ عُصُمُكْ

A servant who, on Ashura, witnessed the day with his own eyes,

And heard your every word heeded in each compliant ear,

نجيبُ مُلكِكَ لَمْ تقعُدْ بِهِ قَدَمٌ

عن كلِّ سعيٍ عَلَتْ فِي فخرهِ قَدَمُكْ

Swearing allegiance to God through the guidance of your wisdom,

Or however your wisdom manifested itself so ingeniously.

سمَّيْتَهُ مُنْذِرَ الأعداءِ لا عَدَمٌ

منهُ الفتوحُ ولا البُشرى بِهِ عَدَمُكْ

And delighted our eyes with your confirmations,

The essence of life, which the name of life embodies through your being.

ساعٍ مراتِبُكَ العليا لهُ أَمَمٌ

وكلُّ حظٍّ من الدنيا بِهِ أَمَمُكْ

In a state whose days are your servants, and a paradise whose fruits are your morals,

Where the birds of your prosperity sing in the gardens, soaring above its plains.

فَحَقَّهُ عَهدُ من لا أنتَ مُتَّهِمٌ

منه السَّدادَ ولا الإيثارُ مُتَّهِمُكْ

Know that kingdoms everywhere continue to orbit under your summit,

And never has a crown for the head neglected your steps, or a stirrup its ornaments by your feet.

عبدٌ غَدَا يومَ عاشوراءَ شاهِدَهُ

فِي كُلِّ سمعٍ مطاعٍ عندَهُ كَلِمُكْ

للهِ من بَيْعَةٍ قادَ القلوبَ لَهَا

رشادُ حُكْمِكَ أو مَا أبدعَتْ حكَمُكْ

وقرَّ عيناً بما أقْرَرْتَ أعْيُنَنا

مَا شاكَهَ اسْمَ الحَيا واسْمَ الحياةِ سِمُكْ

في دولةٍ للعُلا أيَّامُها خَدَمُكْ

وجنَّةٍ للمُنى أثمارُها شِيَمُكْ

غَنَّاءَ ممّا تَغَنَّى فِي حَدائِقِها

طيورُ يُمْنِكَ تَهْمِي فَوْقَها دِيَمُكْ

واعْلُ ولا زَالتِ الأملاكُ قاطِبَةً

تعلو عَلَى الشُّمِّ من أطوادِها أكَمُكْ

ولا خَلَتْ منك تاجاً للعِنانِ يَدٌ

ولا تَخلَّى ركابٌ حَليُهُ قَدَمُكْ
