1. Your generosity is a beloved whose dwelling is never far away.

    Though its home dwells among the stars.

  2. How noble a companion: he eagerly called upon praise,

    And praise answered him, rushing toward him with its reins cast off.

  3. The radiance of his light revealed the path to success,

    And his fire shone for eyes raised toward the heights.

  4. So the morning whose herald comes to you

    And the night that journeys to you are both day.

  5. What hope could turn its path away from you?

    What praise could settle anywhere apart from you?

  6. No hope has any destination but you,

    And no eminence has any center but you.

  7. If a heart yearned for glory and high rank

    And flew toward them, its flight would never pass you by.

  8. If the obedient sea scattered its pearls,

    They would fall only within your shelter.

  9. If a visitor came from the bright stars

    To visit a king, his journey would not turn away from you.

  10. He would head for you, his reins drawn toward you,

    And arrive before you, his standard raised toward you.

  11. If everlasting time had a source of pride,

    It would boast of what you have wrought within it.

  12. One who sings your praises will never lack a fine gift

    That long sustains his wonder and flourishing.

  13. His outward robe is praise drawn from your deeds,

    And his inner garment is choice verses about you.

  14. With him, the world raises its voice before the king

    Whose roots and lineage have grown noble and high.

  15. A king who wears the serenity of Tujib

    And a forbearance whose gravity equals the steadfast mountains.

  16. A great tree whose branches rise into the sky,

    Yet whose fruit hangs low for those who gather it.

  17. The taste of his peace is pleasant and never tires,

    While the bitterness of his war cannot be swallowed.

  18. When his clouds rise amid flashes of lightning

    And his seas surge with an army of armored men,

  19. The heat of his might sets the horizons ablaze:

    A blazing fire whose sparks are blue spearheads.

  20. The bright face of glory's sun rises, as though

    His fire appeared upon the face of the sun.

  21. How often his ambition has brought him to the stars,

    Showing the horizons where his setting place lies.

  22. A lion among lions, whose roar makes the earth tremble,

    And whose cry leads them into the thick of death.

  23. A sun eclipsed within the dark clouds of dust,

    A full moon hidden amid the flutter of banners.

  24. How noble he is: could his pledge ever know betrayal,

    Or one who hopes in him know a broken promise, or his neighbor oppression?

  25. When the horses of misfortune strike at someone's sanctuary,

    His first appeal to you is for victory.

  26. A young man who made swift, fine horses his gaming arrows,

    And whose wager won the moons of lofty honors.

  27. He guarantees that his enemy will be humbled,

    And that those under his protection will be honored.

  28. Why should I not openly choose to be near you,

    When you are the choicest of all that time can offer?

  29. Who else is there for a caller whose plea goes unanswered,

    Or for a captive whose bonds remain unbroken?

  30. Or for a drowning man falling where rescue seems hopeless,

    Or one whose fortune has stumbled beyond recovery?

  31. Indeed, one who shows submission to you gains honor,

    And one who turns to you in need gains wealth.
