1. ما عِندَ مَودودَ مَن قَلَّت مَثالِبُهُ

    إِلّا المُبارِزُ إِبراهيمُ نائِبُهُ

    None but Ibrahim his deputy survives

    Of those Modood censures, he deprived

  2. وَمَن سِواهُ فَكَلبٌ لا خَلاقَ لَهُ

    قَد أَعجَزَتني فَما تُحصى مَعايِبُهُ

    The rest are dogs without moral drive

    His reproaches have wearied me

  3. المُستَشارُ عَفيفُ الدينِ قَد دَمِيَت

    يَدي عَلى لَومِهِ مِمّا أُعاتِبُهُ

  4. وَاِبنُ النُفايَةِ وَالتَيسُ الشَريفُ وَجَع

    سُ الكَلبِ مُشرِفُهُ وَالعِلقُ كاتِبُهُ

    The mongrel dog who heads the prince's office and collects and calculates his funds

  5. وَالأَقلفُ الكَلبُ رَأس الأَمرِ صاحِبُ دي

    وانِ الأَميرِ وَجابيهِ وَحاسِبُهُ

    The stupid, ignorant Kurd who jailed

    Asks of a puppy toying with him

  6. وَالأَحمَقُ الجاهِلُ الكُردِيُّ يَسأَلُ في حَبسِ

    العُقَيبَةِ عَن عَلَقٍ يَداعِبُهُ

    A people who if serving the highest celestial sphere

    Would make its stars fall down with fear

  7. قَومٌ لَو أَنَّهُمُ في خِدمَةِ الفَلَكِ الـ

    ـأَعلى لَخَرَّت بِهِم مِنهُ كَواكِبُهُ
