أَرى اِبن عُنين وَالبَها مُذ توليا
عَلى الناسِ وَلَّى الخَيرُ عَن كُلِّ مُسلِمِ
I see Ibn ʿUnayn and al-Bahāʾ—ever since they took command
over the people, they have turned goodness away from every Muslim.
فَوَاللَهِ يا عيسى بِمَن شِئتَ مِنهُما
لعنتَ وَلَو كُنتَ المَسيح اِبن مَريَمِ
By God, O ʿĪsā, at the hands of whichever of the two you choose,
you would be cursed—even if you were the Messiah, son of Mary.
