1. لَم يَبقَ لي غَيرَ أَن أَموتَ كَما

    قَد ماتَ قَبلي مِنّي إِلى آدَم

    I have naught left but to die as did

    Those before me back to Adam

  2. كُلٌّ إِلى اللَهِ صائِرٌ وَعَلى

    ما قَدَّمَ المَرءُ قَبلَهُ قادِم

    Each travels unto God, and what

    A man did before, he shall meet again

  3. يُدرِكُ ما قَدَّمَت يَداهُ إِذا

    ماتَ فَإِمّا جَذلان أَو نادِم

    He shall attain what his hands put forth

    When he dies, miserable or regretful

  4. فَيا لَها حَسرَةً مُخَلَّدَةً

    إِذا تَساوى المَخدومُ وَالخادِم

    Oh what an eternal sorrow

    When the served and the servant are equal
