1. لا غَروَ أَن ضاعَتِ الأَعيادُ بَينَكُمُ

    رِفقاً كَأَنّي بِكُم قَد ضاعَتِ الجُمَعُ

    It is no wonder that celebrations have vanished among you

    Gently, as if I have vanished along with the crowds

  2. فَليَعجَبِ الناسُ مِن قَومٍ يَقودهُمُ

    إِلى الضَلالَةِ أَعمى وَهوَ مُتَّبَعُ

    Let people be amazed at a nation led

    To misguidance by a blind man followed blindly

  3. قَد كَذَّبوا ما رَأَوهُ وَهوَ مُتَّضحٌ

    وَصَدَّقوا ما رَواهُ وَهوَ مُمتَنِعُ

    They have denied what they have seen clearly

    And believed what they were told though impossible
