وَعُوجٍ كَأَمثالِ الأَهِلَّةُ بزَّلٍ
دِقاقٍ حَواشيها تماكٍ خُصورُها
With twisted necks like the crescent moon veering
Whose slender sides ache while the ribs are seared
عَقَرتُ لِصحبٍ جُوَّعٍ فَرَدَدتُهُم
بِطاناً وَلَمّا تَدمَ مِنها نُحورُها
My friends were famished when we rode back yonder
I cut them open once blood dripped from their tender
