وَلا تُودِع مَتاعَكَ عِندَ عَدلٍ

وَلا سِيَّما إِذا كانَ اِبنَ سيما

Do not deposit your belongings with an upright man,

Especially if he is marked with vice.

فَكَم أَودَعتُهُ أَيداً شَديدَ ال

قُوى فَأَعادَهُ نِضواً سَقيما

How often have I deposited them in the hands

Of a man of great strength, and he returned them diseased and weak.
